The hot summer months arrived. Akola was one of the hottest places in India. A dangerous skin rash developed on Shri Nathji’s body from the heat. Strangely enough, that particular year the temperature of Akola remained the lowest in that region. Shri Nathji was showering a physical as well as spiritual coolness upon the city. People marvelled why a towering spiritual personality like Shri Nathji should be spending his time in a small city like Akola.
There is something in this land that holds me here, said Shri Nathji, some seed of devotion, some austerities and penances carried out by saints and sages and devotees… then, again, perhaps it is the drawing force of Mahamateshwari…… she wants me to be close to her, here in Akola…
The cool summer of Akola, that year in 1978, was a miracle, no less. A devotee of Shri Nathji in Chandrapur, a poor man, Ashok Manik, spent his entire month’s salary to purchase a table-fan to fan Shri Nathji’s portrait. And Shri Nathji felt the cool breeze in faraway Akola.
Thousands of people came for Shri Nathji’s darshan. His devotees were besides themselves with joy. Poor, and uninfluential, these devotees had only Shri Nathji as their mainstay of existence. Their ‘Nath’ was in Akola. It was like ‘Rama’ or ‘Krishna’ come to Akola. Their faces lit up with a divine bliss, and upon their lips was the Arti of Shri Nathji:

“Jai-Jai-Jai-Jai-Bhola Nath Bhagwan
Satyam Shivam Sundaram”
