Shri Nathji was that source which all pure saints and sages recognised and derived strength from.
Bhutt Sahib had always said:
“I have just one test for the genuineness of a mahatma. If he recognises Shri Nathji, then he is real!”
“Maine to asli mahatma ki sirf ek hee paihchaan rakkhi hai! Agar vo Prabhuji ko paihchaan le to vo asli mahatma hai!”
There was a time when he met a renowned mahatma and told him that Shri Nathji was God upon Earth, and that he should come for his darshan and blessings at once. The mahatma said: “Let me have lunch first! Main paihle lunch kar loon!” Bhutt Sahib was so disgusted that he left the place with the words: “God has come upon earth and the man can think only of lunch!”
It takes courage to rise above one’s ego, Shri Nathji used to say, there are many people who are afraid to acknowledge greatness in others, for fear it will detract from their own.
