Late in 1978, the grandmother of Shri Ramesh Chandra Shukla passed away. Her Death was a prostration before God.
Only minutes before, the old lady had been well. She went to her pooja or prayer room, and laid her head down before the portraits there. Her daughter-in-law was in the room, and the old lady said to her: “Beti, bring some coffee for me!”
When the daughter-in-law returned, she found the old lady lying face downwards before the portraits. “Maa! Maa!” she called out to the old lay, but there was no response. When she went close, she found out that the old lady was gone. She had fallen into a silent, blissful sleep from which she was never to awaken. Shri Nathji had heard her prayers.
Shri Nathji had called her “Mataji” which meant “mother” and he had to fulfil her wishes like a son.
