Shri Nathji had also said:
“When you give your heart, which was meant for God, to any object of the world, then you invite grief and sorrow. This is so because all the objects of the world are changeable and perishable, and when they change or are gone, your heart is broken. You then cry out with grief: ‘He Bhagwan! O God!’ The heart cries out for the very God for which it had been meant in the first place!
“However, if you accept the objects of the world as gifts of God and then love them as such, then you will see God in them, and such an attachment will become a worship of God. But if you forget God and become attached to them for your own sake, seeing them as separate from God, then they will go away soon enough.
“Shri Babaji Maharaj had said that in such a case, Nature itself would appear to revolt, there would be fire, earthquakes and storms:

“Aag lag jaayegi, kayaamat barpaa hogi!”

Shri Nathji had written in his book, “Zahoore Haqeeqat”:
“Yaa to duniyaan se mooh morr kar Bhagwan ki taraf mooh kar lo–
Aur yaa phir duniyaan ko Bhagwan kaa deeya samajh kar usske har paihlu se muhabbat karnaa seekh lo!”

“Either turn your face away from the world and look only upon God–
Or else look upon the world as being given by God–and learn to love every phase of it.”

Shri Nathji had given a wonderful example to illustrate this theme:
“I give you a handkerchief. You keep it with yourself, as my gift. Every time that you look at the handkerchief you are reminded of me and my love for you. You keep the handkerchief with great care because it is from me and you love it more than if it were your own handkerchief!
“This is how we must look upon the things of the world. When we look upon them as gifts from God they remind us of Him. We thus love them and care for them more than if they were our own! This is the secret of life.”
Shri Nathji was such an indulgent and loving father, that all he cared for was the fact that Priya Nath liked the girl, and, therefore, he was all too eager to accept the marriage proposal.
Shri Nathji even said to Priya Nath:
“It is my wish that you get married and then go on a world tour with your partner. You can even settle down in America and continue with your subject, Nuclear Physics, there. Don’t worry about me, I can live alone by myself in India. Even a servant is enough to look after me. I have lived my life, it is time for you to live yours; it is time for you to shine.”
Priya Nath could never think of leaving Shri Nathji and hoped that his life partner would also share his views after marriage.
