There was a time when Shri Nathji had become disillusioned with devotees who continued to be attached to materialistic values. He said in an anguished tone one day:
“Aap log der kar rahe hain! Main chalaa jaaoonga! You are delaying–I shall go away!”
It was Shri Nathji’s warning that he would leave the world one day, bringing his avatar upon earth to an end. He had often said to people:
“Kheton ko de lo paani ab baih rahi hai Ganga
Kuchh kar lo nau javaanon utth tee javaaniyaan hain
Go and water the fields, while the Ganga flows,
Do something with thy youth, while the young age lasts!”
