Whenever Shri Nathji came to Lucknow, both Istafa Khan and Khanna would vie with each other in having Shri Nathji stay with them. There were hilarious moments when Shri Nathji would be staying with Khanna, and Istafa Khan would come over in his car to take Shri Nathji to his house. Khanna would say sardonically:
Phir Nawab Sahib apni phat phatiyaa men Shri Nathji ko lene aaye hain! Nawab Sahib has come again in his rattle-trap to take Shri Nathji!
