The City Board at Mussoorie had filed a suit against Shri Nathji for the garage rent of Shri Nathji’s Ford car, and obtained an ex parte degree just at the time that Shri Nathji arrived. There had been a disagreement about the actual rent that was to be paid in the years past, but instead of waiting for Shri Nathji to present his side, the City Board had launched civil proceedings.
Shri Nathji and Priya Nath had to go to the Landaur part of the town in Mussoorie in a rickshaw, and meet an advocate who was very surprised to see them. He developed a great respect for Shri Nathji at first sight and assured him that he would so whatever he could. Perhaps it was to give the advocate his darshan that Shri Nathji had allowed the suit against himself. However, rather than prolong the matter further, Shri Nathji paid the dues the City Board had demanded and removed the Ford Car to Savoy Hotel.
Shri Nathji did not have a moment’s rest after arriving in Mussoorie. Mateshwari’s property, Savitri Nivas, had to be mutated in the name of Pran Nath and Priya Nath and a death duty had to be paid. It was an oppressive taxation coming at a time when a person was already in grief. In later years this oppressive duty was abolished by the government. However Shri Nathji suffered it to be paid like all the rest of the people in the country even though it took many months of bureaucratic delays before the mutation was made.
While on the worldly plane Shri Nathji was playing his part to perfection, his work on the spiritual plane continued undiminished. This was the miracle of his leela upon earth. Every time a genuine seeker after truth would come before Shri Nathji, his divine light would be turned on in all its glory. Shri Nathji had been speaking to the people of Mussoorie with his usual spiritual showering, when he met a thirsty soul who had come all the way from Pondicherry.
