There was a time when Shri Bapat saw Priya Nath driving Shri Nathji in their Standard car, and he said:
“What a strange scene is this! Priya Nath in front, while Shri Nathji is at the back!”
And Shri Nathji said:
“In the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna sat in the front while Arjuna was at the back. But I have changed that rule. Now it is Arjuna who must sit in the front and Lord Krishna who must be behind him, so that whenever Arjuna is troubled, Lord Krishna can shake him by the shoulder from behind, and tell him not to worry, because He is with him!
“Jab Arjuna ghabraaye, Bhagwan Krishna uskaa kandhaa hilaakar kaih denge: ‘Ghabraataa kyoon hai, main tere saath hoon!’”
Shri Nathji had not been too happy with the manner in which Arjuna had placed Lord Krishna in the front of his chariot as a charioteer. Shri Nathji would say:
“Arjuna should have had some consideration for Lord Krishna’s safety. By placing him in front he had, in effect, exposed him to the arrows of the enemy. Then, again, it was not proper for Arjuna to have given the demeaning role of a charioteer to Lord Krishna!”
The books “The First Rays of Dawn” and “Rigmarole” came out of press, and both, Shri Nathji and Priya Nath, were overjoyed on seeing them. They practically filled every nook and corner of the house.
Mrs. Chaudhri brought a very large wooden almirah, which managed to store some of the books, and the rest were sent to Mussoorie. Over a period of time, Shri Nathji and Priya Nath gave away most of the books to the devotees, friends and well-wishers, free of charge. Whoever read them was at once enchanted. Large numbers were given to hospitals where people could read them and derive happiness from them.
