There was Shri Dhasmana, another resident of the colony, who had great faith in Shri Nathji. Shri Dhasmana was the Deputy Registrar of the Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. He had first met Shri Nathji at South Extension in 1969.
At that time his dear son had died. Nothing in the world could give him peace of mind until he came to Shri Nathji. Shri Nathji’s words had such a soothing effect upon him that his sorrow disappeared. It was one of the greatest miracles of his life.
He had, thereafter, become very devoted to Shri Nathji. He had placed Shri Nathji’s photograph in his prayer room and offered worship to it every day.
When he discovered that Shri Nathji had shifted to Sarvodya Enclave, his happiness knew no bounds. His reverence for Shri Nathji was so great that he would seldom come to Shri Nathji’s residence for his darshan, for fear of disturbing him.
If ever Shri Nathji were ill, Shri Dhasmana would be found making frequent visits to his residence to enquire after his welfare and to offer his salutations. Shri Nathji would frequently call him inside the house to get worldly advice from him about matters related to the colony.
Shri Nathji spoke very highly of his unselfish devotion. Shri Dhasmana’s chief concern was for Shri Nathji’s welfare. He would seldom come only to acquire bliss from Shri Nathji.
I look upon you as Bhagwan, he would always say to Shri Nathji.
In the years ahead, when Shri Nathji had an eye operation, Shri Dhasmana remained as a constant source of solace to Priya Nath in the difficult hours.
He was greatly distressed when he saw the doctor resort to delaying tactics, and said; It appears that all the nefarious characters of the world have a tendency to exploit Shri Nathji!
Shri Dhasmana expressed his feeling about Shri Nathji in a letter he wrote to Priya Nath:
“Beyond all human efforts, there work the blessings of Shri Maharajji, unseen to our eyes. His blessings have all along been with us, and it is these which help us always at every stage. We can only express our gratitude to him and pray to God for his long and healthy life so that he can maintain a continuous flow of blessings to us and to all.
Those were strange days. In the years that followed, Shri Nathji would be found in the biting winters of the hills, residing at Savitri Nivas, in Mussoorie–and he would come down to the plains of Delhi in the hot summer months. This was exactly the opposite of what most people did.
Shri Dhasmana of Sarvodaya Enclave would often say to Shri Nathji in a humorous vein:
Now that you have spent the summers in the plains, you will spend the winters in the hills….
