Shri Girdhar Deo of Chandrapur arrived for Shri Nathji’s darshan at Nagpur and prayed to him to grace the city of Chandrapur for one day.
The devotees of Nagpur would not here of it. They had called Shri Nathji to Nagpur and wanted to have him all to themselves. Girdhar said at first:
“Mujhe koyi gham naheen hai! Bhagwan Bhole Nathji to har samai mere dil men raihte hain! I am not disappointed. I have Shri Nathji in my heart all the time!”
However, Priya Nath saw the earnestness of the man’s prayers and accepted his invitation, if only for one day, despite the reluctance of the Nagpur devotees.
Shri Girdhar Deo had been a very poor man when Shri Nathji had visited Chandrapur in 1946 and 1949. He was now a prominent and affluent citizen of the city due to the blessings he had received from Shri Nathji. He was one of the fortunate few in the world who had been photographed sitting alone at Shri Nathji’s feet.
And thus there was the brief, one-day visit of Shri Nathji to Chandrapur in Maharashtra, where the entire city turned out to welcome him. Girdhar Deo welcomed Shri Nathji into the city with a band in procession.
