Shri Nathji’s verse written by him at the age of fifteen, in his famous Urdu Book, “Payaame Muhabbat”, explained how man should live in the world. It was a verse that explained all the complex spiritual philosophies of the world in simple words that everyone could understand:

Deedaye zaahir men mere ye jahaan bastaa rahe
Deedaye baatin men lekin kuchh sivaa tere naa ho

Let the world remain before my external eyes to see
But within the eyes inside, let there be none else but Thee

Here was the highest of spiritual philosophies expressed in the simplest of words. A man had to carry out the work allotted to him in life. However, while being engrossed in the affairs of the world he had to keep God within his heart all the time. This way his work became worship.
Shri Nathji would say: “When you take your work in life to be allotted to you by God, then you will have the remembrance of God within you each and every moment while performing your tasks.”
In another similar verse, but in Persian, Shri Nathji had said:

Nami goyam ke az duniyaa judaa baash
Ba har kaare ke baashi ba Khuda baash

I do not say that you must leave the world,
But in every work that you do, keep God with you!
