Shri Ganesh Prasad Bhutt, who had become a loyal devotee of Shri Nathji in 1937, had but one fervent desire in his heart, that he live close to Shri Nathji and serve him with his own hands.
He knew that the body of Shri Nathji was divine. It was the sacred body of God upon earth. His wife Gangabai Bhutt had seen a vision in the heavens wherein it had been revealed to her that Shri Nathji was none other than Lord Vishnu walking down upon the planet earth in his last avatar during the age of Kali-Darkness. For her this vision had become a reality when she found Shri Nathji at Lahore in 1937. Her husband had been miraculously converted by Shri Nathji. Since that time both husband and wife had remained intensely devoted to Shri Nathji over the years.
When Shri G.P.Bhutt had come for Shri Nathji’s darshan in December 1944 to Lahore he had prayed with tears in his eyes that he be called close to Shri Nathji. This seemed impossible, because Bhutt was an Additional Sessions Judge posted at Raipur and later at Betul and Chandrapur in the regions of Central India, which were far removed from the North of India where Shri Nathji resided.
However, Shri Nathji had always said:
Sachhi ichchaa aur usskee poorti ek hee vastu hoti hai!
An intense desire and its fulfilment are one and the same!
An unprecedented miracle occurred in 1945 itself – when Bhutt was miraculously posted on a deputation to Simla as an Under Secretary in the War Department! This may have been because of the shortage of able men in the government departments of the time. But for Bhutt it was the great boon he had been seeking all these years since 1937.
It was Shri Nathji’s miracle without a shadow of a doubt! It was not for nothing that Bhutt always said: In whatever comes before me, I always see the Divine Will of Shri Nathji working in a silent way for my betterment!
Bhutt had taken a large house on rent in Simla and had invited Shri Nathji to come and live with him and to give up living in Mussoorie altogether. However, Shri Nathji had become too firmly settled in Mussoorie to think of quitting the town for any reason. The only time that Shri Nathji left Mussoorie was in the winter months when the children’s school at Mussoorie was closed. Delhi was close to Mussoorie and Shri Nathji wished to make it his winter residence.
He therefore wished that Bhutt be transferred to Delhi from Simla. And yet another miracle occurred, when Ganesh Prasad Bhutt was appointed an Under Secretary in the Ministry of Defence at New Delhi. Bhutt always called these two of the greatest miracles of his life.
And it was thus that Bhutt came to reside at New Delhi – which was about 180 miles from Mussoorie – and a very likely place for Shri Nathji to visit from Mussoorie.
Although in the years past, the son of Ganesh Prasad Bhutt, Jagdish, had been living with Shri Nathji for various periods of time over the years – 1942 at Naini Tal, 1943 at Lucknow and Mussoorie, and 1944 at Lahore – Bhutt and his wife had never had the privilege or the happiness of living with Shri Nathji and serving him directly.
The day was to arrive in 1946 when Shri Nathji decided to leave Dehra Dun in the winter days after the birthday of Shri Babaji Maharaj, on January 21, 1946,and to go and live with his dear beloved Bhutt Sahib at New Delhi.
Thus it was in February 1946 that Shri Nathji, Mateshwari and the children came to New Delhi to live with the Bhutts for the short time left to them before the children’s school opened at Mussoorie in March 1946.
The residence of Shri Ganesh Prasad Bhutt was at 6/22 Western Extension Area at Karol Bagh, New Delhi. It was a fairly spacious house. Bhutt and his wife and Jagdish were in a state of absolute bliss. They could not have been happier even if heaven had come down to them.
Bhutt had been an additional district judge at Chandrapur in the Central Provinces for a short while before coming to Simla and New Delhi.
He and his wife, Gangabai Bhutt had taken the portraits of Shri Nathji dressed in a Radha Krishna costume to the people of Chandrapur and many had seen the vision of the Divine in these beautiful pictures. They yearned for the darshan of Shri Nathji and Mateshwari both. Gangabai Bhutt pleaded their cause before Shri Nathji and he accepted their invitation and agreed to go.
