Gangabai Bhutt’s sister, Sharda Sharma, who was a well-known poetess as well as a familiar name in politics, was in Nagpur at the time that Shri Nathji came to Bombay.
She had extended an invitation to Shri Nathji to come to Nagpur. However due to riots in that area and the unstable situation in the country after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi on the 30th of January 1948, Shri Nathji thought it wise to cancel the trip.
The desire to bring Shri Nathji to Nagpur persisted in the mind of Sharda, however, and she waited for the right moment, which came in March 1949 when Shri Nathji went to Rajahmundry.
It was Sharda who had said: “Would anyone believe that God is talking to us, walking in our midst, living like any other human being? Shri Nathji’s advent upon the earth is a miracle in itself!”
Although she was not as vocal in her faith as Gangabai Bhutt, yet she had received an inner realisation that Shri Nathji was God, which was a realisation that was not dependent upon the faith of her sister Gangabai Bhutt.
