Smt. Radha Devi Goenka and her husband, Shri Kishan Lal Goenka, were present on the occasion. They were prominent citizens of the city. Smt. Radha Devi Goenka, who had once contemplated the Governorship of Central Provinces, had met Shri Nathji earlier at Nagpur in March 1949. At the time the crowds around Shri Nathji had been unusually thick and she had not got the opportunity for a close contact.
She had then asked Mr. Bhutt:
What is so special in Shri Nathji that swarms of people follow him wherever he goes?
And Mr. Bhutt had replied: Do you ask this question of me –I, who have been associated with him over twelve years? My constancy of faith over this long period of time should be answer enough.
She was greatly satisfied with Shri Bhutt’s answer, and later, when she got a moment alone with Shri Nathji, she asked him for prema-bhakti, love and devotion towards God. Shri Nathji had then said to her: Every genuine desire must find fulfilment. Also, such a desire only arises when there is prema-bhakti to begin with!
Later, at Akola, when she invited Shri Nathji to her home and performed panch-aarti of Shri Nathji, her husband met Shri Nathji and said: Main dhanya ho gayaa, main tript ho gayaa. I am blessed and satiated!
Coming back to the scene at the Railway Station at Akola on December 29,1950, there were the few people with garlands. Shri Nathji, Mateshwari, Pran Nath and Priya Nath, Mr. and Mrs. Bhutt, Shyam Lal and Smt. Veeran Devi were all standing together, waiting.
Mateshwari’s presence there took Shri Nathji above the plane of ordinary Mahatmas. People instantly recognised Shri Nathji to be the Avatar.
Smt. Gangabai Bhutt saw her dreams coming true. The divinity she and her husband had seen in Shri Nathji was to be revealed to the whole world. Shri Nathji, who called himself the Servant of the Earth, found a place in the hearts of all who looked upon him. Shri Sohni, who had earlier offered his home to Shri Nathji, now offered his heart as well. Shri Nathji became enshrined on thrones of faith and devotion in the hearts of the people who had come to receive him at the station.
Shri Nathji was one, but his form existed in the hearts of many. The sun is one, but the eyes that see in its light are many. What greater miracle could there be than this that every eye was able to contain a complete sun in itself?
Akola was to be flooded with a Love Divine.
