On their way to Delhi they stopped over at Dehra Dun at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. The hotel belonged to the father of a friend of Pran Nath and Priya Nath, Ashok Ramchandani. The man was also the proprietor of the Doon View Hotel at Mussoorie and knew Shri Nathji well.
Ashok had pressed Pran Nath and Priya Nath to stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel at Dehra Dun, albeit to bring business to his father, and the boys had in turn pressed Shri Nathji to stay at Dehra Dun for the night before proceeding on to Delhi.
