On the 21st of January 1955, Shri Nathji celebrated the birthday of Shri Babaji Maharaj at the flat in Bombay. It was a birthday that he never missed celebrating no matter where he was.
On that occasion Shri Nathji and Mateshwari were loaded with garlands. After the function was over, Mateshwari discovered that she had lost the one gold necklace she had worn since the days of her marriage.
Suspicion fell on the only outsider in the house, the driver, Tabarruk. The entire house was diligently searched until the necklace was finally found merged inside the flower garlands.
Tabarruk, who had been wrongly suspected, slapped his forehead with his hand and rued his fate, and said: “Waah ree kismat! Woe unto thee O destiny!” Shri Nathji, as always, succeeded in placating the driver.
Whenever the boys would recall the incident they would burst out into laughter, and make Shri Nathji laugh no end, even as they mimicked the voice of Tabarruk saying, “Waah ree kismat!”
