It was already October 1960 when Shri Nathji moved into two small rented rooms, Room Nos. 3 and 4, provided by a Parsi lady, who was the owner of the Cavendish Hotel. Since the place had no kitchen, Shri Nathji had to make a small make-shift kitchen in the small verandah in front of the rooms.
Mateshwari was fairly ill again and there was no one to cook the food. Mrs. Vig, who had received an inner light from Shri Nathji at the Chopras’ house, wished desperately to serve Shri Nathji with her own hands. She prayed to Shri Nathji to allow her to cook in the kitchen and Shri Nathji gave her the permission. Thereafter she would come daily and cook for Shri Nathji.
Shri Nathji would cite the one ambition of the great devotee Meera Bai in her bhajan:

“Mujhe naukar raakho jee,
Mujhe chaakar raakho jee

Keep me as Thy servant, O Lord,
Keep me as Thy slave!”
