Mateshwari had prepared a large blue suitcase for Shri Nathji. It contained his achkans, his chooridars, turbans, shirts and vests, and handkerchiefs. The suitcase had become very heavy by the time it was completely filled.
This blue suitcase was to remain with Shri Nathji all his life, carrying faithfully his clothes wherever he went.
It appeared as if Shri Nathji were going away for a very long time. There was also an Air India shoulder-bag that contained papers and letters and knick-knacks that Mateshwari thought Shri Nathji might be needing. Shri Nathji had never worn a shoulder-bag on his shoulder before, but he was perfectly prepared to do so on this journey if only to look like an Air India tourist.
Shri Nathji consoled Priya Nath and Mateshwari by telling them that he would either return soon with Pran Nath or else call Priya Nath and Mateshwari to London.
