Parmeshwari Das of Allahabad accompanied Shri Nathji on the journey home. He took the place of Shyam Lal at the feet of Shri Nathji in the Standard Car.
Parmeshwari Das had been addicted to gambling before he came to Shri Nathji. His guru, a certain Shri Tripathi, who was a renowned exponent of the Ramayana, had great faith in Shri Nathji. He would prostrate full length before Shri Nathji even in the presence of his own followers and regarded Shri Nathji as God upon earth.
As Shri Tripathi could not reform Parmeshwari Das, he had brought him to Shri Nathji. On coming before Shri Nathji, Parmeshwari Das was at once converted to him and fell at his feet.
He saw God in Shri Nathji at first sight. Shri Nathji told him that it was the wisest gamble of his life.
And Parmeshwari Das said to Shri Nathji: “Meri duniyaan chhuraa do! Take away my world!”
And Shri Nathji gave a reply that at once defined his mission in life:
“Main aapki duniyaan chhurraane naheen aayaa. Main Bhagwan ko pakarrvaane aayaa hoon.
“I have not come to take away your world, I have come to give you God!”
Parmeshwari Das would say to Shri Nathji:
“In the Treta Yuga God had come down upon earth in Ayodhya as Lord Rama; and in the Dwaapar Yuga He had come down in the form of Lord Krishna in Mathura.
“In this age of Kali Yuga the Lord is with us in the form of Shri Bhola Nathji Bhagwan. On thy sacred birthday people get the boons that they seek in life. This is how it was on the birthdays of Rama and Krishna as well. I am a beggar before thee. The reins of my heart are in thy hands, take me whither thou willst!”
