With the passing away of Shri Babaji Maharaj, Shri Nathji left Lahore and shifted to Dehra Dun. He had come there to live permanently with Mateshwari and their first son, Pran Nath.
Jagatmata Saraswati Devi who was alive at the time, did not accompany Shri Nathji to Dehra Dun at the outset. She stayed on at Lahore and came afterwards in June 1941, when she stayed at Dehra Dun for a few months.
While Shri Nathji was at Dehra Dun, the trouble in his arm intensified. Certain X Rays taken at Lahore showed ominous findings, like tubercular arthritis; however, no doctor was absolutely certain.
Those were the days when the Kasera brothers had come to live with Shri Nathji at Dehra Dun. Devki Nandan Kasera was a patient of tuberculosis who remained healthy only when he was with Shri Nathji. It was almost as if Shri Nathji were saving the man’s life by taking his insidious disease upon himself. Those were the days when no medicines were available for tuberculosis but the mountain air was considered beneficial. Doctors had recommended Mussoorie as an ideal hill station for Shri Nathji’s arm.
