It was in 1929 that he went to Jullunder, where again there was the same scene of crowds in the hundreds, coming for his darshan and blessings at the home of Shri Devi Chand, judge. Shri Devi Chand, who had been a worshipper of Lord Krishna, saw Lord Krishna in the personality of Shri Nathji. His sons Shri Kewal Krishen and Barrister Dwarka Nath became staunch followers of Shri Nathji. Dwarka Nath was an atheist who had vowed not to stand up out of respect for Shri Nathji–but who found himself standing, the moment Shri Nathji entered the room! When he narrated the incident to Shri Nathji, Shri Nathji said:“Dwarka Nath, when you stood up you already found me standing to greet you!!”Dwarka Nath became a great devotee of Shri Nathji and would not leave his side for even a minute. And then he returned the roses to Dwarka Nath and said: Shri Nathji continued: “This world was given by God to man as a gift, just like you presented the roses to me. There were some who became so engrossed in the world that they forgot God altogether. And there were others who ignored the world altogether and walked towards God. God was dissatisfied with both of them. But then there were some who kept God’s world before him and looked upon both together! They kept God in their hearts while they did their works in the world! These were the ones who truly understood the meaning of life.”
