Came the 22nd of June, and there was a terrible dust-storm and rain. It appeared to be a bad day. The dust storm looked like the forces of evil exulting at their victory. “Raihne do! Dekhi jaayegi! There was news of terrorists gunning down people in public places. “THERE IS NO POINT IN WITHERING AWAY IN BED – FAR BETTER TO DO SOMETHING FOR GOD, AS LIFE WAS TO GO, ANYWAY!”Priya Nath telephoned the Imperial Hotel and was able, with great difficulty, to get a large air-conditioned limousine taxi from them–a red coloured Chevrolet to take Shri Nathji to Sapru House. The driver turned out to be a Sikh. This was the time when terrorism was rampant and the Sikhs of Delhi were under suspicion. But there was no one who could be a terrorist for Shri Nathji – his overpowering love converted everyone to him. Besides, his teachings were so universal that they touched every heart, of every race and religion, especially the Sikhs.“rent the air, but the voices were subdued. This was the very place where Shri Nathji had walked firmly and strongly in 1983 and in 1986, and where his voice had soared to the skies, bringing the heavens down to earth.“Imagine yourselves stepping out of the house. Suddenly you find that everyone loves you and you love everyone. People are there to help each other. Everyone knocks at the doors of his neighbours and asks them whether they are all right and how he can help them. No longer do you have to look for friends, everyone in the world is your friend. The world of strangers and antagonism is gone. The whole world appears to be one big family. “A person had asked Shri Nathji why God had made an imperfect world, and Shri Nathji had replied: ‘So that some work may be left for you –to make it perfect!’”Priya Nath quoted Shri Nathji’s verse:“Rishtaye ulfat men jab paro sakta thhaa too unko,“When thou couldst have threaded them together in a string of Love,Priya Nath mentioned that the new era of Love as envisioned by Shri Nathji in the World Day of Love had already dawned upon the people of the world. “Issee daure muhabbat men muhabbat ka zamaan aayaa,“In this age of Love the time for Love has come,The last touching words of the ghazal were:“Na jhagrre ghair ke honge na Atom Bomb kee baaten“The struggles of adversaries shall cease, nor shall there be the talk of Atom Bombs,No one could have realised then the Truth of these words. In a world beset upon by the clouds of a nuclear war, no one could have imagined the coming of an era of Love. But Shri Nathji’s words were to ring out to be true in the years that were to come. “Main ne apnee kul shaktiyaan Priya Nathji ko “I have transferred all my powers to Priya Nath, who is my own form, – because this body of mine has become very weak now…”It was almost as if Shri Nathji were saying goodbye to the world. The words brought tears into everyone’s eyes, and broke Priya Nath’s heart.
