It was very difficult, if not impossible, for man to free himself of the desires of the world and to attain God Realisation.‘Main to kambal ko chorrtaa hoon, magar kambal hee naheen mujhe chorrtaa! “Alas! That was the manner in which the objects of the world ensnared man and held him in their grip till the last moments of life!“When we were children we used to listen to stories of a giant whose life existed in a parrot. If the parrot’s leg were broken the giant’s leg would break. If the parrot died, the giant would die as well. In a like manner, the mind of man is like the giant, and the objects of the world like the parrot in which man has entwined his existence.“It is only the realisation of sorrow in the world that takes man’s mind away from the objects of the world. When Buddha realised the sorrows of the world, he sought a release form them, and attained real freedom, Nirvaana, and was thereafter known as Bhagwan Buddha!”
