On February 21, 1988, Shri Nathji is not well. There is the headache, which rears its ugly head once again, and an acute pain in the back, and his legs are unsteady while walking. “Khudaa raa dil mere men tum ye apni yaad raihne do,“O Lord, leave Thy Remembrance in my Heart,The tune that Priya Nath has composed to this ghazal is sad and melancholic. It is almost as if Shri Nathji has gone and Priya Nath is singing the ghazal in remembrance of him. The ghazal brings tears to the eyes of Priya Nath every time that he listens to it.“Pardaa utthaa ke rukh se vo be-nakaab aayaa,“He has lifted up the curtain from His Face and come Unveiled,Shri Nathji makes an important pronouncement before His devotees:“Man ke peechhe mat chalo!”“Do not follow your reasoning!”Shri Nathji had often said to people:“When you come before me, lock your intellect and reasoning. Bring your hearts before me!”Shri Nathji had also said: “I enter the hearts of those persons directly who come before me with receptivity. However, when I find the path to the heart blocked by a man’s intellect, then I enter within his brain and then dig a tunnel into his heart!”Shri Nathji had also this warning to the intellectuals who sought to grasp God through their knowledge alone:Yato vaacho nivartante apraapya mansaa sahaaHe is that which is beyond words, thoughts and the mindAnd if He is beyond the mind, then how can He be grasped by the mind?”
