Shri Nathji had once or twice mentioned to Priya Nath that his quilt was too heavy and that it was an effort for him to lift it, the more so in the middle of the night. However, he had not brought the topic up again because he felt that it depressed Priya Nath. This was because of a chance remark that Shri Nathji had made:“Babaji ko bhee aakhri vakt men razaayi utthaani mushkil ho gayi thhee!“Even Babaji found it difficult to lift his quilt during his last days.”Priya Nath’s heart would break at the thought. Priya Nath had found the reference to “last days” very depressing and had not discussed the quilt again. However he knew how dangerous it would be in the winter if the quilt slipped off Shri Nathji’s body in the middle of the night and if Shri Nathji did not awaken Priya Nath to lift it up for him. He decided therefore to get a light weight quilt at the earliest. “Mujhe Rai Bahadur Ugra Sen kaihtaa thhaa: ‘Maharaj!“It is a burden on oneself and others. There is a saying: ‘The Blessings of elders have thrown us into misery!’ The elders always blessed people with a long life! The exact verse as quoted by Shri Nathji was:Masaayibe dauraan, umar lambiThe travails of the world, along with a long life,But all this was said by Shri Nathji in good humour. He appeared to be enjoying his old age, illness and physical suffering. He had often said:“I very seldom come into my body consciousness!”
