After the grand event is over, the worrisome affairs of the world – especially the Mussoorie Road problem– rear their ugly head again. “Agar main koyi aagyaa aapko karoon, aur aapkaa dil bhee uss kaam ko karne ko chaahe, to ye koyi barraa tyaag naheen – magar agar main kissee cheez ki aagyaa karoon aur aapkaa dil usse naa karne ko chaahe, phir bhee aap apne man ko maar kar uss kaam ko karen – to ye sachhi sevaa hai! Aur usskaa phal bhee utnaa hee barraa hai!“If I ask you to do some work, and you too, desire it, then it is no great sacrifice on your part. But if I ask you to do something which you do not want to do – and you still do it, and obey my order by giving up your own will, then, indeed, you have performed a genuine sacrifice. And the reward for such a service is all the greater.”While recounting to Manu the rewards of service done in hardship, Shri Nathji recollected:“I once served Shri Babaji Bhagwan to the point of collapsing. But I didn’t stop. I said I would go on serving him till I collapsed and could move no more.“Main ne sochaa agar ek bhee kaam aur kiyaa to gir parroongaa – aur phir kahaa, ke kaam kartaa hee jaoongaa jab tak gir na parroon.”And then Shri Nathji quoted his favourite words:“ATTEMPT GREAT THINGS FOR GOD, THEN EXPECT GREAT THINGS FROM GOD!”Manu’s reluctance disappears at once, and he goes to Mussoorie on the divine errand entrusted to him. Little did he realise that these divine errands that he was doing for Shri Nathji were the real earning of life.
