Shri Nathji blesses Priya Nath and pats him on his back on New Year’s Day. The day passes silently. Priya Nath is too worried about Shri Nathji to think in terms of the New Year. He is deathly afraid lest the fluid in the lungs turns out to be some cancerous effusion. The doctors at the All India Institute had told him that one day the cancer of the prostate would spread to the lungs, and, thereafter, to the entire body. “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”Shri Nathji had also said: “Kitnaa bhee gyaan kyon naa haasil kar len, magar agar haathh men zaraa si sooyi bhhee chhubh jaaye to haaye nikal jaati hai!“Even if you acquire all the knowledge in the world, yet you are compelled to cry out, if a needle pierces your hand!”Shri Nathji had also said:“Mujhe to aap logon se zyaadaa shaareerik peerraa hoti hai, kyonki mujhe shareer men aane ki aadat naheen hai! “I feel pain more than you do, because I am not accustomed to coming in the human body!” It was Shri Nathji’s greatness that though being in intense physical suffering himself he continued to spread bliss to the people of the world. Even when he was on his bed and writing ghazals, the infinity of His invisible form was present in all corners of the Universe, helping mankind from morning till night.Shri Nathji had often said: “Jab saaraa vishva soyaa hotaa hai, main uss vakt bhee jaag rahaa hotaa hoon! “Even when the entire world is asleep I remain awake!”
