Shri Nathji remains remarkablly well till the 22nd of June, but as the 23rd dawns upon them, his pulse suddenly becomes irregular– for the first time in many weeks. It is a dangerous situation. The forces of evil are at work again.“Sab ttheek hai! Kuchh naheen hogaa.“Everything is all right. Nothing will go wrong. Don’t even look at the pulse!”After a breakfast of biscuits and boiled potatoes, Shri Nathji has a very light afternoon meal, and then discusses which achkan to wear. Priya Nath selects a white achkan made of American cloth, brought by Ved Vig from America some time back, and Shri Nathji puts it on. He ties a beautiful golden yellow turban around his head. His arms and hands are still strong enough for the effort. “Baazoo-on men to kaafi taakat hai! “The arms are quite strong!”Shri Nathji wears his old, warm, greenish white checked shirt, so as not to appear too thin in the achkan. The shirt would also protect against the air-conditioning in the Auditorium if the place became too cold.“MAIN AAJ APNE DEATH-BED SE UTTHKAR AAP SE BOL RAHAA HOON! KYAA ISS SE BHEE BARRAA CHAMATKAAR HO SAKTAA HAI?”“I HAVE GOT UP FROM MY DEATH-BED TO COME HERE AND SPEAK TO YOU! CAN THERE BE A GREATER MIRACLE THAN THIS?”Shri Nathji added cryptically, much to the despair of Priya Nath: “MERE PAAS BAHUT KAM VAKT HAI.”“I HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME LEFT.”Shri Nathji spoke for about one and a half-hours and the people assembled there felt the total absence of time:“Where God exists, time does not exist!” Shri Nathji had often said.Shri Nathji added with great power:“MERI BAAT MAAN LEEJIYE –BHAGWAN HAIN!”“BELIEVE MY WORDS– GOD EXISTS!”Shri Nathji spoke on the theme of a flower and a thorn:“Kahaa jaataa hai – ‘Gule be-khar kujaa yaa bast?’”“It is often said – ‘Where is the flower without a thorn?’” And Shri Nathji continued: “But I have always said– ‘“KAANTAA KYAA HAI?–“What is the thorn? –Shri Nathji explained:“For as long as you are merged in God, the world ceases to exist. Everything before you then becomes a Face of God. But when your sight slips from God– the world with all its sufferings comes before you!”By the time Shri Nathji had finished speaking, the audience was drowned in a world of God-consciousness–with God sitting in all HIS GLORY AND MAJESTY before them in the form of Shri Nathji. As Priya Nath recorded in his diary later:“It was a beautiful triumph for Shri Nathji – his best speech yet in Delhi’s halls. It was what he had promised me–and He wasn’t even tired after the speech!”
