Priya Nath had observed, on more than one occasion, that each time he was filled with happiness that Shri Nathji was about to recover, something would happen to Shri Nathji. It had reached a point where Priya Nath had almost become afraid to be happy–lest the powers of evil strike just then.“Itnaee to acchee“My health is as good as it can be! Do not mind these minor things. Even God becomes angry at such thoughts!”Then, to pacify Priya Nath, Shri Nathji adds:“Itnee aap meri sevaa karte hain! Aapki khushee ko“You serve me so much! If God tries to prevent you from being happy, such a God must be cast aside!”Priya Nath soon realises his folly in blaming God – or Shri Nathji, who are one and the same – for Shri Nathji’s illnesses. However, Priya Nath’s only happiness lay in seeing Shri Nathji well. “Khoob gaanaa bajaanaa chaahiye!“Sing and play music to your heart’s content!”And Priya Nath again adds irony to his reply:“All this has come about after singing and playing music!”Shri Nathji laughs at Priya Nath’s comments with characteristic, affectionate humour, adding: “Main to paihle se bhee achhaa “I am feeling better than ever before! Better than even in the previous years!”
