On December 4, 1991 Shri Nathji gives His morning lecture to the entire world from His bed, beginning with His favourite verses, depicting a devotee’s love for his God:“Nakaab chehre se khursheed jab utthaave hai,“When the Sun lifts up its veil from its Face,Shri Nathji repeats the last two lines of the Persian poem, in Hindi:“Praate kaal jab log apne kaamon par jaate hain,“Early in the morning when people go to their chores,“When my right arm was hurt, and was in terrible pain for two years, I used to tell people:‘Ye baazoo kaam naheen kar rahaa –‘This arm is not working,Shri Nathji quotes His Persian verse:“Sar navishte maa ba daste khud navisht“The writer of my destiny is writing with His own Hand,Shri Nathji adds, in Hindi, speaking on behalf of a worshipper of God:“Usne aur cheezen to baandh deen, par jab meraa bhaagya likhne lagaa – soch, soch kar kahaa …Kalam tthee haathh men …hamaara bhaagya apne haathh se likhnen lagaa.. vo aadmi naachne lagaa – kyon? Tere virodh men bhee to likh sakta hai? To vo kaihne lagaa – ‘Sundar aqshar likhne vaalaa bure akshar likhegaa hi naheen!’“He pre-arranged everything else, but when it came to my destiny, He began to think, and He had a pen in His hand – and He began to write my destiny with His own hands. It was a time to dance! But there were some who said: ‘He can even write something that may go against you!’ But I said: ‘He whose handwriting is so beautiful can never write anything that is bad!’”There was a photograph of Shri Nathji in his house, Savitri Nivas, at Mussoorie, in the 1950’s which showed him writing with a pen in his hand. Two devotees had come for his darshan and were looking at the portrait. One of them said:“I wonder what He is writing?”Shri Nathji, who had been listening to the conversation from inside, emerged in the verandah and said:“Agar pasand na aayaa to kaat kar dobaaraa likh denge!“If you do not like what I have written, I shall scratch it out and write it all over again!”This, indeed, was the magnanimous heart of the Creator, ‘“Why be afraid if the astrologer predicts a bad tomorrow?”“Abhee to kal aur aaj men raat baaki hai”
