Shri Nathji has completed his 158th ghazal notebook, according to Priya Nath, –although Shri Nathji vaguely recalls he had completed 150 Notebooks during the days when Khushwant Singh came to see Him in July 1988, and therefore the number of notebooks ought to have been much greater than the 158 that Priya Nath had noted!“Zabar dasti aati hain! Inhen rokaa naheen jaataa!“They come forcibly! They cannot be stopped!”On occasions when he continues writing till 3 a.m., he says:“Ye ghazalen hi tang kar rahi hain! Sone naheen deteen!“These ghazals keep disturbing me! They won’t let me sleep!”Shri Nathji also dictates another ghazal which begins with the words:“Usska zahoor hoga”“He shall reveal Himself”Priya Nath puts this to music as well and the two of them listen to it in a pensive mood later.
