Suddenly, on the 5th of August 1991, Shri Nathji is struck by a deadly, intensely severe pain in his right eye in the morning. “Bajaao ghazalon ko! Pain bhaag jaayegi!“Go on playing ghazals! The pain will vanish by itself!”And that is precisely what happens – although Priya Nath does not play any ghazals. The pain goes away by itself. “Tees si utthti thhee!“A severe pain cut through the eye!”Later, Shri Nathji tells the home group of devotees:“Aise lagaa jaise saare vishwa ki peerraa aa gayi ho!“It appeared as if the pain of the entire world had come to me!”Priya Nath is against the idea of an operation, and instills the Betnesol-N eye-drops diligently into the eye. Priya Nath had seen how doctors had tormented Shri Nathji with operations in the past, and the agonies he had endured when his left eye had been operated upon.
