There is a chocolate brown achkan of Shri Nathji, which hangs on the wall next to his bed. Priya Nath uses the inside pocket of the achkan to store money, like a safe – and invariably discovers that when the pocket is about to become empty, money comes in miraculously from some devotee’s sewa. “Don’t look at your empty purses, but look at the bountiful bank balance – and my filled treasury meant for you!“Apne khaali batoo-on ko mat dekho – mere bhare khazaanon ki taraf dekho!”Shri Nathji would advise Priya Nath to spent money cautiously, quoting the Maharaja of Sarila who used to say:“A rupee gone, is a rupee gone forever!”But despite all this, both Priya Nath and Shri Nathji were very liberal with money and gave generously to all, leaving nothing for themselves at times!
