I broke out into loud sobs and tears as I spoke to Bhayya, Pran Nath, on the phone. He asked me to give the phone to Pitaji who was in a semi-drowsy state in bed, but who listened to Bhayya’s exhortations telling Him:“You must get well! Promise“You must get well! Promise that you will get well!”Pitaji responded in a feeble voice:“Main “I make a Promise! Pranji! Are you all right? Your clock is lying close to my bed here.”It was a most touching conversation and I cried throughout. O Lord, the pent up agony of my soul burst out before Bhayya.“Priyaji kuchh bhee mujhe ho jaaye, Pranji ko kaihna ke“Priyaji, no matter what happens to me, tell Pranji not to quit London.”At 2 am I had to rouse Pitaji from a deep sleep, and told Him that I thought He had become unconscious.“Unconscious “There is no unconsciousness! Do not allow such negative thoughts to come.”
