During the evening of April 12, 1992, there is a phone call from Dr. Shakuntala Talwar that her brother Dharamvir Talwar and his wife are in Delhi due to heart problems and Dharamvir Talwar may have to undergo an operation at the Escorts Heart Institute. Dr. Shakuntala Talwar says to Priya Nath on the phone:“Main naheen chaahati ke do “I do not want the two operations to take place!”Priya Nath is filled with great terror. He knows of the promise Shri Nathji had made to Dharamvir Talwar’s wife – that her husband would not only recover from his heart problem but also lead a very active life. “Kyaa ye log Maharajji ki zindagi kaa saudaa karne aaye thhe?“Did these people want Shri Maharajji to barter away his life for the sake of their sewaa?”Priya Nath records in his diary of 12th April, 1992:“O Lord, please don’t let Pitaji take any of the man’s symptoms upon himself.”Priya Nath protested to Shri Nathji to not to take anyone’s illnesses upon Himself – and certainly not now, at his age of 89, with two heart attacks already imposed upon His gentle body.
