No Minister or political leaders were invited to come on stage lest the World Prayer Day take on a political hue, though many a minister had been wanting to “inaugurate” the function. There was one minister who started out uninvited to Vigyan Bhavan. His minions telephoned Priya Nath to keep garlands ready for his welcome. However, at the last minute, he came down with stomach trouble and had to be admitted to a hospital instead!
