On the 3rd of November 1984 comes another piece of news that shocks Shri Nathji. His most loyal devotee, Shakuntala Mehra, passed away with the name of Nathji on her lips.“Vo Baikuntthe men chalee gayee hain. “She has gone to Heaven. I say this with firm knowledge. She is in the Heaven of Heavens–Mahabaikunth. The earning that she has taken with herself is not the lot of everyone. It would have been good if you had brought her for my darshan once.”Aruna is shame-faced and makes lame excuses about the non-availability of her car and the fact that Shakuntala was too ill to be moved. Lastly, she weeps and asks for the boon of Shri Nathji’s ‘bhakti’, devotion, for herself.
