There is a tragic incident when Mrs. Bhutt falls down and dislocates her shoulder. She screams with the pain. Dr. Gupta is called and he resets the bone in its socket. He places her hand in a sling. For several days thereafter Mrs. Bhutt remains in severe pain. Both, Shri Nathji and Priya Nath, remain very concerned about her. Priya Nath goes and spends a long time with her each day, enquiring about her arm and speaks to Dr. Gupta about her recovery.“Shareer to phir sharer hee hai. Sooyi tak bhee chhubh jaaye to mooh se ‘Haaye’ nikal jaati hai! Christ ko bhee kaihnaa parraa thhaa“The human body is after all made of flesh and blood. Even if a needle prick the body, it must cry out in pain. Christ had to say: ‘The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.’”Priya Nath wonders how Shri Nathji could have endured the dreadful pain in his right arm at the time of the operation of 1943. It was only Shri Nathji who was capable of enduring physical suffering with such dignity.
