The aftermath of Shri Nathji’s April 18, 1986 letter was felt dramatically in the year that followed, in 1987–the coming together of the United States of America and the Soviet Union in December 1987, when both the leaders, Reagan and Gorbachev, signed a Historic Treaty to reduce nuclear weapons and to put an end to the era of the cold war. “AN IRREVERSIBLE ERA OF PEACE HAS DAWNED UPON THE PLANET EARTH.”The two superpowers of the world agreed to sign the INF Treaty, which would bring about a new era of peace into the world. Indeed so astonishing was this turn of events that people all over the world were left bewildered. The impossible was happening before their very eyes.“Pas az man shere man khaanando mi goyando dar yaa band“After I am gone, they shall read my verse, as the being who lived amongst them,i.e. as Shri Nathji translated it into Hindi:“Mere iss duniyaa se chale jaane ke baad log mere sher parrhenge aur kahenge vo kaun thhaa jo aayaa, hamaare beech men rahaa, apne aap se vaakaf thaa, aur duniyaa ko badal kar chala gayaa!”“After I am gone from this world, they shall read my verse and wonder who it was who had come and lived in their midst, who knew of His own self, and who changed the world and left.”Such a One was Shri Nathji – He who had existed before Creation, and would exist even after the world had ceased to exist.
