On another occasion, Shri Nathji was speaking to a doctor: Man must love God just like the moth loves the flame, he said.
The moth can see the flame, said the doctor,
but man cannot see God, so how can he learn to love Him?
Khanna interrupted: Man can see God! Here is Shri Nathji sitting before you!
R.R.Khanna would say to Shri Nathji:
Huzoor, aap saraapaa husn hain! Sir, you are beauty personified from head to foot.
And he would also say with great feeling: Meraa Bhagwan to sirf sar se paaon tak itnaa hee hai! My God exists only in Thee, from head to foot!”
There was the time when Khanna went with Shri Nathji to Mathura. Even though Shri Nathji saluted the idols of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, Khanna refused to do so–and saluted only Shri Nathji.
Shri Nathji used to say:
Garche zamaane na bavad guzashto daure rasul
Vali zahoore valaayat dareen zamaanaye maast
The age of the past prophets and avatars has gone,
It is now time for my manifestation!
Shri Nathji would say:
“If you want to go to the Prime Minister, will you go to those who have gone, or to the one who is presently in the chair?”
