Shri Nathji often recited the following verse:

Baazi chai ittefaal hai duniyaan mere aage
Hotaa hai shabo roz tamaashaa mere aage

It is but a game of children this world before me
Day and night I do witness this play before me!

Ik khel hai Aurange Sulemaan mere nazdeek
Ik baat hai ijaaze Maseehaa mere aage

The glory of Sulemaan the King is naught before me,
The miracles of Messiahs are but a whim before me!

Indeed it would be a long time before the world could fully understand Shri Nathji. He was the highest of the high and played with the lowest of the low. He often narrated this verse below:

Khaake pasti se daaman teraa hamdam naheen
Ye barraayi kaa nishaan nayyare aazam naheen

If thy light does not play with the particles of the earth,
O Sun! Thou greatest of all lights–this is not a sign of thy greatness!

To those in the world who could not understand Him, Shri Nathji would say with humour, quoting the lines of a prevailing film song:

“Tum hamaare ho na ho,
Ham tumhaare ho chuke!”

“Even if you do not become mine,
I have become yours!

Indeed it was only Shri Nathji’s deep and abiding love that made him say this. His love far exceeded that of a mother or a father.
