Shri Nathji had brought Jagdish with him to Mussoorie in April 1948, and Jagdish remained with Shri Nathji for the greater part of May 1948. During this time he played the role of Shri Nathji’s Secretary and wrote a number of letters on his behalf. He wrote to Mr. Khera and the Young India Recording Company at Bombay to send Shri Nathji’s records to Mussoorie at the earliest.
A beautiful portrait of Shri Nathji had been taken to the recording company by Mateshwari’s nephew, Kewal, at Bombay and this was eventually printed on the records. Shri Nathji had decided to give the records the title “Prabhu Prem” which was to be printed on them.
The friend of Jagdish, Rajjan Misra, also came to Mussoorie for a few days and lost himself completely in the divine atmosphere that prevailed at St. Andrews.
When he left Mussoorie he was filled with great sadness. His mind could think only of Shri Nathji and nothing else.
He wrote to Shri Nathji from Delhi:
“My God,
Ever since I have come from Mussoorie I can think of nothing except you and your Love. The days passed in Mussoorie as if I was in a heaven.”
It was the birthday of Shri Nathji on the 23rd of June 1948. The birthday was going to be celebrated at the new house, St. Andrews, for the first time. A lecture was to be held at Majestic Cinema Hall on the 22nd of June. Invitation cards were printed and sent out to the devotees and acquaintances in the plains by Mateshwari as usual.
