Sri Krishen Khanna, the elder brother of Mateshwari, who was in Delhi at the time, wrote to Shri Nathji: “Your Lordship! It is time for you to shower your grace on the people of Delhi. I have met a very learned and pious lady here, who had had a vision that the Avatar of God had been born upon earth and was walking in the midst of mankind.
“When I showed her your photograph she was deeply touched and saw a vision of God in it. She has begun yearning for your darshan day and night. She keeps on asking me when Shri Nathji will return to Delhi. Have mercy upon us sinners and give us Thy Divine Grace. We eagerly await your Lordship’s arrival.”
Shri Nathji had often said: “Sometimes I must leave one, and go to meet lakhs, and sometimes, I must leave lakhs and go to meet one.
“Kabhi main ek ko chhorr kar laakhon ke paas jaataa hoon, aur kabhi main laakhon ko chhorr kar ek ke paas jaataa hoon!”
Shri Nathji could alter his plans for the sake of even one genuine seeker after truth if it so moved him. Rather than ask the old lady to come to Bombay for his darshan, Shri Nathji prepared to go to Delhi. Though outwardly there were many reasons that prompted Shri Nathji’s return to Delhi, yet the desire of that one lady was also reason enough for him. Perhaps she had been yearning for the darshan of God in human form since ages.
