Bhutt had always said that he had but one desire left in life: and that was to see Shri Nathji’s Glory spread everywhere. He was always filled with great happiness whenever he saw Shri Nathji accepted by multitudes.
While they were in Nagpur, he came to Shri Nathji and said:
There is a certain saint, Pachlegaonkar, by name in these parts of Maharashtra. He has thousands of followers. He is accredited with supernatural powers and can draw snakes to himself without harm. Many regard him as the ansha-avatar, a part incarnation of Lord Shanker. He is in Nagpur these days. If he accepts you, thousands of Maharashtrians will become yours!
Bhutt Saheb, Shri Nathji said, if he doesn’t believe in me, then you can also cease to have faith in me! Do you need someone to confirm your belief?
The exact words of Shri Nathji were:

“Bhutt Sahib, agar vo naheen maantaa to aap bhee maan naa chhorr denaa! Kyaa aap uski gavaahi chaahate hain?”

Shri Nathji continued:
“It makes no difference to me whether one man believes in me or thousands. If I have satiated one man’s thirst, I have established a principle, that such similar thirst can find fulfilment in me! Truth is that which can stand alone by itself. It requires no witnesses.
Time came, however, when the meeting between Shri Pachlegaonkar and Shri Nathji was arranged.
The hall at Tara Buty’s house was packed with people. Shri Nathji was to speak from his throne-like chair, Singhaasan, at one end of the hall.
The people were seated on the floor. A Chawki-short chair was provided for Shri Pachlegaonkar at the other end of the hall.
When Shri Nathji entered, all the people gathered there including Shri Pachlegaonkar, stood up as a mark of respect.
Shri Nathji had entered with folded hands. Shri Pachlegaonkar stared at Shri Nathji but briefly. And then he came running towards Shri Nathji and fell at his feet, declaring very loudly:
Enough! This is what the world was waiting for!

“Bass! Issee cheez kaa intazaar thaa!

He had recognised the divinity of Shri Nathji. Being a pure soul, and an enlightened sage, Shri Pachlegaonkar took but one look and understood Shri Nathji.
Later, Bhutt Saheb asked: Shri Nathji, why did he delay by a few seconds before he came to you?
Shri Nathji said: He was so completely merged in what he saw that he couldn’t move for a brief moment!
Only the real could recognise the real. All genuine Mahatmas recognised Shri Nathji. This was as much a proof of Shri Nathji’s divinity as it was of their genuineness.
As Shri Nathji frequently said: A jewel can only be recognised by a jeweller!
