The Birthday of Shri Babaji Maharaj, which fell on January 21, was celebrated faithfully each year by Shri Nathji on that date.
Actually Shri Babaji Maharaj had been born on the 20th of January 1867 at 11:15 pm, but since the exact time of birth was late in the night, it had become customary to celebrate the birthday on the 21st of January.
A great saint had come and gone from the world. At a time when the world had heard of lesser saints, the greatest living sage of the age had entered into the world quietly and left with the same degree of quietness.
Qawwaalis would form part of the birthday celebrations, since Shri Babaji Maharaj had always loved them.
The biography of Shri Babaji Maharaj, “Zahoore Haqueeqat” – “The Manifestation of Reality”, which had been written by Shri Nathji partly at Mussoorie and partly at Lucknow in 1932, soon went out of print. A great and noble soul had departed without leaving behind a trace of himself.
