It was on the 11th of September 1978, that Shri Nathji finally bade a farewell to Akola. As the weeping crowds ran after the train that was carrying him away from Akola, Shri Nathji stood at the open doorway of his compartment and said in a voice that appeared to reverberate everywhere:“Sarv dharman parityajya maam ekam sharanam, vraj!”It was the voice of Lord Krishna in the Geeta: Shri Nathji would never be returning to his beloved Akola again, and was leaving behind his legacy in the hearts of his devotees.
