One day while Shri Nathji was speaking to a group of people in the verandah of his residence, a man dressed in khadi with a Gandhi Cap on his head, came to see him. He was helped by two men who held his arms as he walked. The man was Shri Ramesh Chandra who was a Chief Engineer as well as a retired Secretary to the Govt of Assam.“Giraa anain, nain bin vaani”“The tongue has no eyes, and the eyes have no voice!”Shri Nathji stayed at the palace residence over all of 1959, and till May 1960, when it was time to go to Mussoorie for the summer vacations of the boys. Mateshwari was loathe to go. She felt more at ease in the plains where she did not have to struggle with the harsh weather and the difficult conditions that prevailed at Mussoorie. However she became seriously ill at Allahabad due to the heat, and therefore they took the long trip to Mussoorie by car. The Ford Car of Shri Nathji had been brought down from Mussoorie to Allahabad in 1959 itself and it was in this car that they returned. The journey was beset upon by intense hot winds that made the interior of the car into a furnace. By the time that they reached Mussoorie, Mateshwari was really very ill.
