Victor driver, who had remained with Shri Nathji off and on since 1949, and who had the habit of running away whenever he liked and returning at will, was warned by Shri Nathji in 1953 that if he ran away again he would never again be able to return. And that was exactly what happened. “I give you a diamond and tell you that it is worth one crore of rupees. You have faith in my words, and the result is that you walk with the strength of a crorepati. But if one day someone, or your own mind, deludes you into believing that the diamond is just a piece of glass–then the worth of the diamond will still be one crore, but you will cease to be a crorepati!”By the time it was November 1953, Shri Nathji had to decide where to go for the winters. At last he and Mateshwari decided that they would go to Delhi and stay in a rented accommodation where they could live with greater freedom.
