As January 1988 draws to a close, there is Sohan Lal Kasera, the son of Ganni Lal Kasera, whom Shri Nathji blesses, reminding him of his father’s devotion. Ganni Lal was the younger brother of Devki Nandan Kasera and the elder brother of Shyam Lal Kasera. He had passed away in 1970. In the past, whenever he came before Shri Nathji, he would never speak above a whisper. Shri Nathji was so pleased with the man’s devotion that he would often tell other devotees of the man’s ‘adab’, his reverence, in not raising his voice above a whisper before his Lord and Master.“You have served me with such loyalty and devotion–will I let you open a mere paan shop? They returned to their home town at Hathras where they began a small cloth business. Shri Nathji sent them a telegram that became legend: “Blessings Flourish!” And they flourished like they had never done before in their lives–soon becoming the leading cloth merchants of the city, and purchasing a large double storeyed building in Moti Bazar.“If you walk towards the Sun your shadow will follow you, but, if you turn your backs to the Sun, your shadow will run away from you! In a like manner, when you walk towards God, prosperity follows you, but when you turn your backs to God, worldly prosperity runs away from you!”
