There is the old College friend from the days of Mussoorie, Mohan Bir Singh Lamba, who had been a class fellow of Pran Nath. His visit is a surprise after 31 years! He had last met Shri Nathji and Mahamateshwari in 1958 when they had been living at Mussoorie. “Iskaa aanaa shubh huaa!“His coming was auspicious!”Shri Nathji had frequently praised friends who were helpful to each other, with the words:“A friend in need is a friend, indeed!”Shri Nathji often told a story about two friends:“One of the two was in dire need of money and went to his friend and asked him for it. His friend began to weep. And the man said to him: ‘If you cannot give the money, then don’t worry. Why must you weep?’ And the friend replied: ‘I am not weeping because I cannot give you the money. I am weeping because you had to come to me and ask me for the money–why didn’t I realise myself that you were in need!”
